Petrus Saayman Wedding Photography

On my way to Grasslands for JP and Tania’s wedding I realized that it was going to rain later in the afternoon.  Most propably when we want to do the couple photo shoot.  Rain in itself is not a problem…you just have to plan for it.

So…I scouted the streets of Bethal for a suitable place that could provide rain cover and found oom Wikus’s house with it’s beautiful veranda and lovely old furniture.  I could not have been more impressed.  This was perfect for my couple shoot….with or without rain.

When we exited the church after the ceremony….it rained.  Thanks oom Wikus for letting me use your house…you saved my butt big time.

JP and Tania are one cooking hot couple….even hotter that those red shoes.  Thanks guys for a lovely wedding…and for being so easy in front of my camera.

I knew that this was going to be a perfect wedding the moment I saw Pelonomi today.  The hair was set….make-up applied….the dress was beautiful….and she was glowing.  Dayo was Mr handsome himself…and such a gentleman.  I did’nt feel like a service provider but rather like one of the special guests.

After a weeks of rain almost everyday, the weather suddenly cleared and was just perfect for the outside wedding ceremony. Paster Mathlathi could easily have been mistaken for a stand-up comedian…..I have never laughed so much during a ceremony.

Graceland’s food and preparations was top notch as usual and to top it all off we had a live band with a funky lead guitarist giving a show of his own.

….as I mentioned…a perfect wedding.

Kleinkaap is a beautiful wedding venue in the heart of Centurion.  With it’s typical Cape Dutch architecture and peaceful gardens, it was the ideal place for Etienne and Mariette’s big day.

Typical to the cape weather, we had a massive thunder storm in the late afternoon. Luckily we decided to do the couple photo shoot before the actual ceremony…so no stress.

Etienne and Mariette you two were beautiful and so easy to work with.  May you have a great life together.

This was my first time at “Diep in die berg” and I’m in love with this venue.  So many photo opportunities….so much character….so beautiful.  I want more of this.

Then again…I had a cooking hot couple that would make any odd venue look spectacular.  Leslie and Anélle you two were stunning….may the love I saw between you today, always burn so passionately.

When a bride-to-be tells me she’s getting married at six o’clock in the evening…..I get nervous….and very inquisitive…”WHY?”

Look…I can handle my self even when it’s pitch black dark…middle of the night stuff….I have the right gear to do it, but I prefer to work mostly with natural light.

“Because the sun goes down at eight o’clock“…Bertie answered.

“What!…..not where I’m from“.

“In the Karoo it does…Petrusville to be specific“.   Now I was exited…my first Karoo wedding.

Today was a beautiful day.

Blue skies mixed with cloudy weather and thunder in the distance at times…..lots and lots of drama in the skies.  Majestic black beasts pulling an antique stage coach.  An old willow tree in the middle of nowhere…grass fields as far as the eye can see.  Add to this a lovely couple, overflowing with love for each other and you have a photographer’s perfect day.  I couldn’t have asked for more.

This was Johan and Bianca on their most beautiful day at Rhino lodge.

This is Phill and Odette’s biggest day….and I was so fortunate to be a big part of it.

The pre-bridal shoot and part of the couple shoot was done at the “Big Five Guesthouse” in Witbank.  The wedding itself took place at “Del Amor”.

Today was a perfect day. We had sunny weather….a beautiful horse….a magnificent chapel…a handsome groom and a lovely bride.  What more could I ask for to make great images with?

In my opinion, weddings don’t come more perfect than this.

JP and Marlé….you two were stunning…stunning…stunning.

For all the aspiring brides out there, I can really recommend Green Leaves as a wedding venue….it’s a beautiful place.

It was cold…and wet…and rainy….all day long. But despite this, we had a great wedding.  Dewald and Anandé are such an eazy-going couple and so beautiful to photograph, it couldn’t be any other way…no matter what the conditions.

Dewald and Anandé, I just know you two are going to have a great life together…enjoy every moment of it.

Pieter and Anoesjka did things a bit differently.  Instead of the normal reception at the end of the wedding day, they had a small intimate lunch with some close family members just after the morning church ceremony.  After that we had a lengthy, but fun, photo shoot…all over Middelburg.

Thanks you two for giving me so much time to create my images…I’m sure you’ll like them.
